VIDEO: JLF Expert Urges Lawmakers to Avoid Across-the-Board Teacher Pay Raises

Legislators should avoid across-the-board pay raises, but they do have other ways to make significant improvements in salaries for the state’s best public school teachers. The John Locke Foundation’s top public education expert delivered that message Wednesday to a legislative study group.

Issues surrounding teacher turnover, retention, and compensation made up the bulk of the presentation Terry Stoops, JLF director of research and education studies, delivered to the House Select Committee on Education Strategy and Practices.
